Ben Morgan
Head of Academic Physical Education
My name is Ben Morgan and I am the Head of Academic PE here at GEMS Wellington School Qatar. I have previously held roles in North Yorkshire, England, where I have had experience in a number of different roles. From a whole school perspective, I am proud to say that I have previously been entrusted with pastoral responsibilities as well as being a large part of a behavioural policy change within an ‘on call’ role within my short time in education. Within the PE department my passion lies with teaching and learning, and maximising student experience within the lesson and across our ECA opportunities, giving a fair and ambitious education to all. In my current role, I am responsible for driving academic excellence within our PE GCSE and A-Level options and promoting the success of our PE students.
Having a strong sporting background across a number of different sports, I believe this exposure sets me up well to deliver our varied curriculum from KS1 to KS5. I have seen first hand the importance of a rich and diverse curriculum and the importance of education for every child.
Outside of my time teaching, I am a keen runner and enjoy staying fit, whilst also looking to explore different parts of the world on my travels.
